Donate your used laptop computer to struggling job seekers
Vidya Tantra performs various service projects for the needs of those most destitute in the west side of metro Los Angeles. Among these include career development and job fulfillment skills, along with stress management, mindfulness training, and intuitional development. In addition to developing their talents -- many of them already well seasoned in their skill sets -- access to and ownership of viable working personal laptop computer is another of their greatest challenges, both in developing, as well as preserving their portfolios, communicating with potential job and client prospects, and in further developing their talents and skills to bring about more meaningful outcomes for employers, clients, and themselves.
For most of us, the easiest thing to do with our older computer system is put it in a closet, the basement or some other out-of-sight, out-of-mind location. There are, however, better solutions, particularly if the computer in question is still operable and less than five years old. We put your older computer to best use in the hands of talented needy people in pursuit of work, deserving in developing their careers and economic viability.

Volunteers refurbish donated Laptop PCs for optimal functionality. All data is wiped from the drive then reformatted with a fresh operating system installation. If requested, we can pull any extant information from donated PCs and put it on a flash drive or CD/DVD before wiping the hard drive.
Many free wireless hotspots, including at libraries, afford meaningful access to the Internet. Those same libraries have long waiting lines of patrons with nearly all libraries affording very small time limits for use, usually five to fifteen minutes -- not the best environment for developing one's articulate communication for a magnificent new career opportunity.

Having their own personal laptop computer far exceeds such feeble accessibility offered by public library terminals. Your laptop donations make a meaningful impact in furthering their success.
A practical and ethical way to dispose of your computer while contributing to the career success of others during these difficult times. Please include the power adapter and any CDs/DVDs that came with the PC.
The worst choice you can make is to put the computer (or any electronic equipment) in the trash. Landfills are no place for the harmful chemicals, including lead, cadmium, beryllium and mercury, found in virtually all digital equipment. With many other solutions available, there's no reason to simply throw an old computer away. We help others succeed through your contributions.
In addition to Computer Laptops, Digital Solid State [DSS] drives are installed, of which donations of digital drives and external hard drives of 500 GB and above are welcome. We assist many with graphic arts capabilities, both financially poor students and experienced artists.
